Hey everyone! I just wanted to let you know that I'm doing some major construction on The Time-Turner, which is why the images aren't showing up. I'm uploading the images onto a different host so that I don't keep running out of bandwith here. Plus a lot of other stuff as well--everything that I have thus far put off because of my PSATs (er, OWLs). I'm behind in banner dedications (sorry Amy), and I may be short of a co-webmaster/webmistress. (If anyone's interested in the job, e-mail me with "job application" in the subject line--see Staff page for more details.)

I am also working on Goblet of Fire movie content, a book seven page, a newsletter, recipes, fan fic, fan art, contests, etc. I'm hoping to change the purpose of this site to include everything that can't be found on most Harry Potter websites. In the meantime, I'm working on real-life (meaning non-computer) tasks such as writing three essays by the end of this week, writing a screenplay for a soap opera, helping my friend with her site, practicing archery, and working on other graphic design projects, not to mention school and my social life. So yeah, I'm pretty busy. And yeah, I'd really appreciate a co-webmaster.

We've been running out of bandwith nearly every day now.....On one hand, this means we're getting a lot more visitors. On the other hand, visitors later in the day aren't able to see the website. To fix this problem, we will be moving to http://www.thetimeturner.com soon. Unfortunately, this means I will have to completely remake the site, so this may take a while. In the meantime, to preserve the bandwith for other users, if you've already seen the pictures or watched the video clips, please don't veiw them again just for the heck of it. We really appreciate all you visitors, its because of you that we're able to keep expanding our site!

A sneak peek of what looks like the theatrical trailer of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is available here. There are quite a few exciting new clips, including glimpses of Fleur Delacour, Cho Chang, Ron in his dress robes, the first, second, and third tasks, Mad-Eye Moody, and more. Go watch it right now--it's definately worth it!

As for our own site, we have a new title pic, Goblet of Fire themed.

Yay! We're back up! I need to make a new title graphic, but other than that, we're good!

The Time-Turner has now changed to http://www.thetimeturner.com. You can still access it here, but a .com name is much easier to remember.

Also, we now have our e-mail up again, so affilate invitations are easier than ever!

In case you haven't already seen it, we have three new pages for fan art, fan fiction, and contests. Fan fiction isn't quite open yet, but I can promise that it will be in two or three weeks. Fan art and Contests are ready for your submissions, however!

We have been having technical difficulties for the past few days--sorry for the inconvenience. The Time-Turner keeps exceeding its daily bandwith. I'm working on it, and I hope to have the site back up and running to its usual standard soon, along with a new domain name. In the meantime, bear with us!

It was just announced today that the Goblet of Fire movie will, indeed, be rated PG-13 due to "sequences of fantasy violence and frightening images."

[Character Who Died] on toast???

Someone has claimed that [the character who died] popped out of their toaster and they're trying to sell it on e-bay. So far the bid is up to $5.50....I don't know about you guys but it looks believable to me ;)

So, here's the description that's up on e-bay (thought you might get a kick out of this):

(Warning: If you have not finished reading the lastest Harry Potter book.. You may not wish to read further!)

As I made my breakfast, I continued to sob uncontrollably. Learning of Dumbledore's death made it hard to concentrate on anything else. My stomach was in knots... I didn't want to eat but I knew that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So I went about fixing my breakfast as normally as I could (under the circumstances,I'm sure you understand)..
As my toast popped out I realized that it was HIM!!..
It was Dumbledore!!
He never really left me...
He was on my TOAST!!
I knew he was too important to Hogwarts, and the gang, to be gone for good! He's got so much unfinished business, and he needs help getting back to Hogwarts! Dumbledore's kindness and friendship should be experienced by all. I cannot be selfish and keep him to myself.
Say NO to He-who-must-not-be-named!
Show your loyalty to Dumbledore by giving him a chance to return where he belongs! Help him get there.
Remember if you win, please put him back on ebay, and give him a chance to travel some more! He must continue to look for the remaining horcruxes, and help Harry Potter defeat He-who-must-not-be-named once and for all!

New page: Video Clips! There are two different clips, "Deleted Scenes" and "Special Features", available in both Windows Media Player and Quick Time Player, in either high or low bandwith.

The Half-Blood Prince page has now been changed to Book 7. It's not complete yet, but I'll be working on it for the next week or so, so bear with me....

We also have a new staff member, Ana. She's in Greece right now but she'll be working on the website when she gets back. We have a lot of plans for The Time-Turner, including contests, fan fiction, fan art, recipes, etc. If you have any ideas for content or new pages, let us know via the tagboard. Thanks!

Now that I've finished reading it, I am able to give a full report on the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

I didn't sleep well on the night of the 14th; I tossed and turned through a thousand and one dreams about the book I would, if all went well, be reading in one more day. In the end I woke up with a headache around 4 in the morning (no wonder: I'd been trying to puzzle out the significance of a pensieve and a black-stoned ring in my sleep) and spent the next couple of hours staring up at the glow-in-the-dark stars on my ceiling, wondering if maybe I was wrong about who was the Half-Blood Prince, and whether the person I thought was going to die would, which was not a comforting thought.

After breakfast that morning I tried several futile attempts at distracting myself with various books and music, and ended up visiting Mugglenet several times to see if there was any news and stare avidly at the high-res images of the cover, hoping it would fall out of the computer screen, a real paper-and-ink book. I was glad to recieve several phone calls concerning the big event, which at least broke the endless monotony of watching the second hand in its journey around the clock. Then I sat on the screen porch reading the Order of the Phoenix (I'd only read it five times and wanted to re-read it to refresh my memory), but it was wicked hot out there and I kept getting the pages soaked in sweat. Finally, when five glasses of lemonade didn't do the job I retired to my bedroom and sat in front of my bookshelf with the fan turned on high, oscillating between perusing Lord of the Rings books noncommitedly, gazing at my signed photo of Dan, Rupert, and Emma, listening to the soft ticking of my clock, and pointing my wand at the ceiling, shooting down flies (I'm kidding on the last one).

At last the clock hands crawled to 4:30 and I got into the relentlessly hot car and headed to Barnes & Noble. The line to get wristbands started almost immediately after we got there. It was lucky we had already reserved our books seven months ago when the release date had been announced; not five minutes after the line started they stopped taking reservations. While we stood in line we chatted with other Harry Potter fanatics (one woman brought her baby dressed up as baby Harry with a lightning bolt scar) and bounced up and down on the balls of our feet excitedly. Finally they were organized enough to start. We each got our yellow "reserved" wristbands, a map of the games and activities that would begin at 11:00 pm, and a wizarding passport. The idea of the wristbands, by the way, was that the number told where you were in line to get your book. Yellow wristbands were for those that had already reserved their books, and orange was for those who had not. The orange wristband people couldn't get their books until after all of the yellow ones.

They had a table set up of Harry Potter stuff: games, books, wizarding chess and "lumos wand lights". I was dissappointed in the small amount; there were no bookmarks, pens, or chocolate frogs, and I was sure that they could have had about a million more things if they had wanted. Before we left I bought the Harry Potter "Scene It?" game (which wasn't supposed to come out until August) and Maximum Ride, a book I'd been wanting for some time, to lessen the blow when I finished the Harry Potter book. There was also a magazine I wanted, Movie Magic, that was entirely Harry Potter, but it was sold out by the time I got to it, so I'll have to wait until later. My sister bought an adorable stuffed Hedwig owl and Harry Potter Uno.

We ordered a pizza and went to my friend Alexa's house; I couldn't eat half of my slice because I was so excited. We kept looking at the clock and saying, "four hours, eighteen minutes...." After everyone finished eating (or in my case, staring at their full plate), we played the Harry Potter Scene It game. It was a lot of fun, but the game cards were very easy and the DVD questions were mostly harder. It was nice though how the gameboard could fold up to make the game shorter or longer, and the tokens were nice. It also came in a very nice tin, with a picture from the Goblet of Fire on the cover. Supposedly there are Goblet of Fire questions in it, but while we got card questions such as "Who plays Madame Maxime?" and "What other movies did Ralph Fiennes star in?", we still haven't seen any scenes on the DVD questions unless you count a picture of Fleur and of the merpeoples' dwelling.

We had planned to stop by Walden Books and see what was going on there, but our game went late so at 9:30 we headed straight back to Barnes & Noble instead. We looked at books for a while and then watched Prisoner of Azkaban in the movie section. We also came up with excuses to walk back and forth in the front of the store, stealing glances at the boxes stacked behind the counter, gaurded by two or three employees. The boxes where white with green writing, and said Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and then in big letters, DO NOT OPEN BEFORE JULY 16, 2005. Then we noticed that the deluxe editions and audio versions were already in the window display, and I had to bite my tongue to keep from crying.

It wasn't crowded at first but pretty soon people started pouring in. It was amazing, pretty much everyone there dressed up. There were Harrys, Hermiones, Gryffindors and Slytherins, Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws, a few crazy ones that might have been Tralawney, and even a little kid dressed up as Dumbledore. Alexa and I were wearing out t-shirts we'd made last month. They have a scroll of parchment on the back that says "Dumbledore's Army", and the motto underneath is "The Ministry of Magic are Morons". Below that is a list of the members, in alphabetical order and different handwriting, including ourselves. On the front is a small badge that says our names and then "Member of the D.A.".

At eleven the party started; it wasn't too crowded because of the fire codes, which was good. We did have to stand in line for each of the activities, but we didn't mind because we had to wait for midnight anyway. We read books in line while those behind us read our shirts. The activities weren't the most awe-inspiring, but they kept us entertained while we waited. We had our pictures taken in front of a cardboard standee of pictures from all the HP books; outsmarted a bored-looking wizard who seemed embarassed to be dressed in purple robes; and got free Harry Potter glasses which were fun to wear even though we couldn't see out of them. We saw seven people we knew, despite the fact that most people were unrecognizable in their costumes and glasses.

Finally the big moment arrived. At quarter to twelve, we went to the front of the store and pretty soon the other first 50 people lined up behind us. I couldn't believe we were first in line, and that I was ten minutes away from having my book in my hands. Five minuted to twelve....they began unwrapping the books. I started shreiking and jumping up and down; the woman behind the counter began to get nervous and told us to back up three steps. They tossed me one of the boxes. Then, ten seconds before midnight, we started counting...ten...nine...eight...seven...six...five...four...three...two...ONE!!! The noise was overwhelming. The whole store was behind me, screaming, and the line outside of the people who couldn't get in was screaming too. It seemed to freeze me to the place I stood, and then my sister shoved me forward and I ran to the cash register at the very end, hardly knowing where I was. The woman I'd talked to six hourd earlier in line for the wristbands was cherring and shouting, "YAY! YOU'RE THE FIRST ONE!!!!" I thrust my twenty dollar bill, which was bent and creased from me twisting it in my hands as I stood in line, and probably wet with sweat as well. It seemed to take forever for the clerk to get out the first book, and then he scanned it and set it just within my reach. I reached out my hand to take the book, to touch it, but it seemed to hover over the cover and my heart was slamming against my ribs, I couldn't quite bring myself to extend my hand two inches and take the book I'd been waiting for for over a year. Then suddenly the clerk was dropping a stack of coins and a reciept into my outstretched hand, and without warning the book was in my arms. I just stood there a moment until I was shoved out of the way by the next person in line, and when I walked to the doors I seemed to float, and I wondered for a moment if I had died and come back as a ghost, but then I felt the reassuring pressure of the book in my hands. I was handed a Harry Potter poster on my way out the door, and as I walked past the long line of people waiting outside the doors all their heads turned and stared hungrily at the first copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. One guy even yelled, "Would you sell that book to me for five hundred dollars?" I paused outside the entrance and held it up so that I could see it in the light streaming out of the window display, and rested my forehead on the book I'd been waiting for for so long, tears in my eyes. Alexa asked me if I was all right and I looked up, grinning. Then I saw, horrified, that I had gotten sweat on the cover, and scrubbed at it madly with my shirt. I opened the book and buried my nose in it, savoring the smell of ink and new paper. Then suddenly I realized that I hadn't even read the summary yet. I opened the front cover, but my hand was shaking so hard that my eyes couldn't follow the letters. Finally I stumbled through it and closed the book lovingly. My change and receipt were still clenched in my fist, and I was struggling to carry my box and poster. I looked up at the starry sky and laughed out loud, dancing around the parking lot and singing "Double Trouble" like I'd suddenly gone mad. People stared and laughed, but I didn't care. I skipped to the car, fumbled around for my booklight, and started reading. It was 12:10.

I read the whole night through, although at seven in the morning I slept for 58 minutes. Then I read the whole next day, nonstop (except to get dinner and use the bathroom), and at ten after midnight the next day, I finished. Now I'm ready to read it again.

I am writing a review of the book today, and I hope to have it up by tonight or tomorrow morning, and I am going to be changing the page for book 6 into book 7, so if anyone wants to take a look at it before I take it down, now would be the time.

Charlotte Church sticks up for HP

British singing sensation Charlotte Church has slammed Pope Benedict XVI after he stated (years ago) that the Harry Potter books should be banned because they are evil and full of witchcraft. Church added that the Pope should read them before he criticizes them. Thanks to all who wrote in.

JKR wins battle against HBP theives

Spoiler Warning: don't read this if you don't want to hear rumours about a major character's death in HBP! (it could be true!)

Harry Potter Author Wins Battle to Stop Stolen Book Leak By Andrew Barrow and David Stringer, PA
Harry Potter author JK Rowling has won a court battle to stop two men leaking details of her eagerly-awaited latest book after a dramatic operation to recover two stolen copies.
The book, due to be published on July 16, was offered to two national newspapers.

Ms Rowling was granted a High Court injunction against the two men aged 19 and 37 after they were accused of attempting to sell printed copies of Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince.
Legal firm Reynolds Porter Chamberlain issued a statement on her behalf which said: “This order was made following our client’s discovery this morning that a copy of the forthcoming Harry Potter Book, Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince, had been obtained by unauthorised persons who had subsequently offered the book to newspaper journalists.”
Spokesmen for The Sun and the Daily Mirror said both had been contacted by someone claiming to have copies of the new book.
Both newspapers said they planned to meet the man in Kettering, Northants, to make sure that the books were returned to the publishers.
A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said they arrested two men after being contacted about the book.
“Two books were recovered and they are currently being held in secure circumstances as evidence,” said a spokesman.
Police said later that the two men arrested had both been charged with weapons offences and with handling the stolen books.
Both were released on police bail until early next week when they will appear before magistrates in the county.
A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: “We have charged a 37-year-old Kettering man with possession of an offensive weapon and with handling stolen property and a 19-year-old with theft and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
“Both have been released on bail.”
The novel has already caused controversy after heavy betting on the identity of a major character supposedly killed off in it.
Bookmakers were forced to suspend wagers on the victim’s identity late last month amid fears that the manuscript had been leaked after a thousands of pounds were laid on Hogwarts head teacher, Professor Dumbledore.
The flurry of bets came from the town of Bungay in Suffolk, where it is thought the book is being printed.
Internet betting site Blue Square opened bets when Rowling announced nine months ago that a character would be killed off.
The site suspended betting in the light of the suspicions that the manuscript could have been read. Betting has since been reintroduced, albeit at “prohibitive” odds of 1-5.

The Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban movie scripts are now online. They are the originals, and so are a bit different from the actual movies. There was a lot of stuff that got reworded or missed the final cut, especially in Prisoner of Azkaban. See for yourself:

I haven't updated in over two weeks, but today I have approved two new Guestbook entries. I have a lot of ideas for The Time-Turner but I can only do a bit at a time, so it's going slower than I would like. I've been thinking about adding a page about other books, books to read while waiting for the next HP book to come out. I was also thinking of posting interveiws with other authors, about what they think of Harry Potter.

I've been told by a lot of people that they would like to see some more polls. I can do that, but I need to know what you would like the polls to be about. If you have any ideas post them in the comments section of this post, or in the Time-Turner Forums, or in the guestbook....

I'm also working on a Sorting Hat, so that you all can be sorted into one of the Hogwarts houses if you'd like. I'm not sure when it'll be up, but I'm working on it.

I've recieved several complaints that the background music isn't working properly. I think it might have something to do with older computers, or maybe the sound card. I'm trying to fix it, but in the meantime if you need to you can turn it off. Just go to the music player for "Forward to a Time Past" at the bottom of the main page, and click the stop button.

Warner Bros. just fixed the teaser poster for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: for a while it said "Difficult times lie ahead Harry," a quote from the upcoming movie. Now they've added a comma between "ahead" and "Harry"; I'm sure most of you weren't bothered by this but for those of you that were, the new poster can be found on my Goblet of Fire page.

Also, Warner Bros' Official Goblet of Fire website is now open at http://harrypotter.warnerbros.com/gobletoffire/index.html.

I now have banner dedications back up; if any of you would like to request a banner dedicated to you, please fill out the form on my banner page.

I've also added background music to the main page. "Forward to a Time Past" (from Prisoner of Azkaban) will automatically start playing when the main page is loaded. I thought it was appropriate.

Several new Goblet of Fire banners are in the making--now that I have the screencaps from ABC's Goblet of Fire special, I should have enough images.

Dean--you posted on my tagboard before and wanted to know if I'd like a different website host. I'm actually new at this, The Time-Turner is my first website and it's been up for only a few months. But if you know of one that's not too expensive, then yes I'd consider it. I am getting frusterated with all these ads. My tagboard has a 300 word limit, so please use the comments section below this post if there's not enough room. Thanks!
